Join us on Tuesday evening to kick off the conference in style with the classic RSECon welcome social at Peddler Warehouse, an ex-industrial warehouse turned independent event space in the heart of Sheffield’s old industrial quarter.

There will be food trucks and drinks provided, and you can sit down and enjoy dinner with friends and colleagues ahead of the conference. There will also be a cash bar available.

This event is included in the price of your ticket.

Getting to the venue

Peddler Warehouse is located just across the River Don from Sheffield city centre.

If you are coming from a satellite event at The Wave, you can walk ~1.4 miles downhill in a roughly straight line through the Crookes Valley and Ponderosa parks, before crossing Penistone road and the River Don reaching Burton road soon after. Please note that Crookes Valley park itself is a valley, it can be bypassed via Harcourt road, Mushroom lane or Western park if avoiding walking uphill/steps.

Alternatively, the 52a/52 bus can be caught from The Wave’s bus-stop, changing at Waingate/Castle-Street to the 7/8a/8 bus which will get you to Burton Road with minimal walking.

If you are coming from the city centre or the main train station, you can take the 8a, 81, and 7 buses from Arundel Gate (behind the Lyceum theatre) to Burton road. Peddler Warehouse is a mostly flat 1.4 mile walk from the city centre.

If you are taking a taxi, they will be able to drop you off at the pavement next to the venue.

Accessibility

The venue is all on a single level and is fully wheelchair accessible. The courtyard between the street and the main entrance is cobbled. It is a 15 metre walk from the pavement to the main door of the venue.

There is a single-stall accessible toilet.

There will be a quiet area set up inside the venue, as well as access to the courtyard, which is likely to be calmer.

Please reach out to the Steering Committee if you have specific accessibility questions.
