Back to the Fortran Future 4 (BTTFF4) will build on three previous satellite events, two at RSECon and one at SSI CW26. We bring together members of the national and international Fortran community– developers, software engineers, computational scientists and other stakeholders– to work together to 1) better understand the landscape of the community 2) share good practice and 3) plan activities to support the community.
BTTFF4 will also formally launch FortranFuture, a three-year Network+ project funded by the EPSRC (UKRI4343), which will strengthen the Fortran national and international community, grow a complementary interdisciplinary research network, develop a roadmap for future Fortran-based science, and identify resources (e.g., partners, funding, tools) to support the implementation of the roadmap.
