During dinner, we will announce the winners of the annual Society of RSE awards and following dinner there will be a performance by Dylan Beattie. Dinner and wine is included in the price of your conference ticket, and there will be a cash bar available.
Getting to the venue
Cutlers’ Hall is located in the heart of Sheffield city centre, opposite the cathedral.
If you are coming from The Wave, it’s a 1.2 mile downhill walk following Witham road, switching to Leavygreave Road/Portobello after passing the Students’ union. If preferring public transport you can catch the 52 / 52a bus from the Wave’s bus stop to near the bus interchange (includes 6 minutes of walking). Yellow/blue trams can also be taken from the university tram stop, located half-way down the hill, to the cathedral tram stop.
Cutlers’ Hall is an easy walking distance from most of the hotels in the city centre and is a 15 minute walk from the train station.
Taxis can drop you off and pick you up from the pavement directly outside the venue.
Accessibility
The venue is across two levels and mostly wheelchair accessible. There is a lift in the building that provides access to the first floor, where the dinner will take place.
The main entrance is equipped with an operator-controlled lift - venue staff will be on hand to operate this.
There is a single-stall accessible toilet located on the ground floor.
There are a number of quieter rooms on the first floor, which can be used if you want a break from the main dinner room.
You can take virtual tour of the venue or reach out to the Steering Committee if you have specific accessibility questions.
