The Society of Research Software Engineering is inviting individuals and organisations to run satellite events around RSECon26 and RSE Worldwide.

This year, RSECon will be hosted at the University of Sheffield. If you would like to run a co-located event, please use the attached Google form to apply. The conference team will arrange your room booking, catering, and any A/V needs. You will be responsible for covering all of the costs associated with your event and will run your own registration process.

As Sheffield is hosting, during the same week, the first International Research Software Conference, all satellite events will be organised on Tuesday 8 September and we have space for 4 events.

What Kinds of Events Are Eligible

We welcome events that are of interest to the Research Software Engineering community across institutions and organisations. Events may be technical in nature (such as hackathons or co-working sessions) or focused on community-building, leadership, and career development.

Submit your application via the satellite events form.

You’ll be asked to provide:

  • A brief description of your event (300 words max)
  • Organisation name (if applicable)
  • Contact name(s) and email(s)

  • Event name and duration
